NOCA Spartans Athletics Register

2025–26 Season · Spartans Athletics

What does it mean to be a Spartan?

Athletics at NOCA is more than competition — it is a proving ground for the soul, where student-athletes pursue excellence in body and character alike.

The Spartan Way

Formation of the whole person.

In the classical tradition, education has always been understood as formation of the whole person — mind, body, and soul. The ancient Greeks recognized that physical training was inseparable from the cultivation of virtue. They called this pursuit arete — excellence of character made manifest through disciplined action.

At Northwest Ohio Classical Academy, our athletics program exists to support this vision. We believe that the arena of sport challenges young men and women to grow in virtue as they strive for greatness — not only in technical skill, but in the qualities that define noble character.

Through perseverance in training, courage in competition, humility in victory, and grace in defeat, our Spartan athletes learn to order their lives around what is true, good, and beautiful.

Perseverance

Embracing the challenge of disciplined training, day after day, to build strength of body and will.

Courage

Competing with heart and conviction, willing to risk failure in pursuit of personal and team excellence.

Humility

Recognizing that victory belongs to the team, and that every opponent deserves respect and fair play.

Sportsmanship

Representing our school, families, and community with dignity — in every practice, every game, every interaction.
